Military Appreciation Day at Fluor Field

The Greenville Drive will celebrate Military Appreciation Day during their game against the Rome Braves.

They will kick off the day early with a pregame street party in District 356 featuring live music, a hot dog eating contest, a military vehicle display, food and drinks, inflatables and more.

Inside the stadium, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra will perform while a Special Forces jumpstream parachutes into the outfield. There will also be a presentation of colors by the marines, a vintage WWII warbirds flyover and a spectacular fireworks show following the game.

All veterans and active duty members will receive a $10 ballpark voucher as well.

Clemson MBA Fireworks on the Fourth at Unity Park

One of the signature 4th of July events in Greenville. Clemson MBA will sponsor one of the most extravagant fireworks shows in the Upstate, right above Greenville’s vast Unity Park. Bring a blanket and a picnic dinner, listen to the music and enjoy a memorable evening.

The Company Band plays at 6:00 PM and the 246 Army Band plays at 7:30 PM.

Fountain Inn Fireworks Spectacular

Start the weekend in Fountain Inn on Saturday for a night of live music, food trucks, childrens’ entertainment and a sunset fireworks display.

Annual Hillbilly Day

Maybe live bluegrass, square dancing and a greased pole climb is more your thing. In that case, make sure to stop by Mountain Rest for their Annual Hillbilly Day. It was founded in 1959 as a celebration of Appalachian culture and continues to be a July 4th staple in the Upstate.

America’s 5k

Hit the road before you hit the grill! Celebrate Independence Day with a nice 3.1 mile out-and-back through the rolling hills of Anderson. All proceeds support Operation Active Kids.

First responders, teachers, veterans, military, police and security officers, nurses and doctors receive a free race bib.

Contra Dance

Put on your dancing shoes and celebrate Independence Day with one of Appalachia’s traditional folk dances. Contra involves live bluegrass and a lot of energy. If you’re new to it, make sure to show up at 7:30 for a free lesson!

Hot Dog Eating Contest

No Independence Day is complete without a hot dog eating contest. Pangea Brewing Company is doing the honors this year, with an open invitation to anyone willing to participate. Each competitor will have five minutes to eat up to 25 hot dogs. The winner receives a t-shirt, trophy, a gift certificate and bragging rights. Enter here.

5th Annual Family, Fun, & Fireworks Celebration at Hartness

Greenville’s Hartness neighborhood is hosting an Independence Day celebration on July 1. They will have food trucks, music and kids’ activities, culminating in a fireworks show.

Historic Easley 4th of July Celebration

Don’t miss this if you’re a local music fan. The City of Easley and Ingles will celebrate the 4th of July from July 2-4 with live music from 1:30 PM until late in the evening each day.

Simply Freedom Fest Simpsonville

Country singer Josh Turner will bring his “Long Black Train Anniversary Tour” to this year’s Simply Freedom Fest (formerly known as Celebrate Simpsonville) at the CCNB Amphitheatre. Country music siblings Dugger Band will serve as the opening act, with a fireworks display to follow after Turner’s main performance.

The show is free and open to the public. However, the show is first-come-first-served, so make sure to show up early to ensure you can grab a seat.

Spartanburg’s Red, White and Boom

Spartanburg hosts their big 4th of July Event at 5:30. Watch performances by Revel Radio and the Spartanburg Community Band, and grab a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors. Don’t miss the fireworks show at 9:35 either!

Twin Creeks Lavender 4th Annual Upick 2023

Twin Creeks Lavender Farm’s 4th annual Upick season ends on July 4th, and they are going out with a bang. This is an opportunity to explore their five-acre farm of organically-grown lavender and to pick some of your own. Throughout the season, they offer lavender-honey ice cream, popsicles, scavenger hunts and more. Specifically on July 4th, they will also have live music.
